Recommendations and Position Statements on Overseas Trained Doctors

AMA Queensland has long supported overseas-trained doctors, calling for appropriate resources, training, services and working conditions to ensure overseas trained doctors are able to thrive in Australia's medical profession. 

AMA Queensland established an IMG Working Group to provide considered and expert advice on matters relating to IMGs, including policy recommendations for government and other bodies to better support IMGs in training. The AMA Queensland Council also has IMG representation to ensure the needs of this important medical cohort are considered.

AMC Pathways

The three main pathways to registration in Australia are set out on the Australian Medical Council (AMC) website.
