Advocacy

Through the AMA Queensland Committee of Doctors in Training (CDT), we advocate collectively on the critical issues affecting junior doctors including:

  • medical workforce shortages - we support a coordinated and planned increase in clinical training places for medical students and postgraduate training places for medical graduates
  • placements, funding arrangements and the number of postgraduate training places at prevocational and vocational (specialist) level
  • appropriate rostering arrangements and payment for all hours worked

CDT meets regularly to review and progress the important issues you face as a doctor in training.

Do you have an issue you would like to discuss with CDT? Email [email protected]

CDT reports to the AMA Queensland Board and Council.

Your entitlements as a resident medical officer

AMA Queensland and ASMOFQ advocate for improved employment conditions that better support your career journey.

As a resident medical officer (RMO) employed with a Hospital and Health Service within Queensland Health, you are entitled to specific conditions contained in the Medical Officers' (Queensland Health) Certified Agreement (No.6) 2022 (MOCA 6) and the Medical Officers (Queensland Health) Award - State 2015.
